Black Country Communion
The album that deep purple should be making.
A massive slab of retro seventies classic rock played by musos with serios street cred and loads of talent.
When you have Glenn Hughes [bass and vocals], Joe Bonamassa [guitar, vocals], Jason Bonham [drums] and Derek Sherinian [keyboards ] you cant go wrong.
The album kicks off with the title track and never lets up from then on.
’One last soul’ has Mr. Bonamassa outdoing himself and showing everybody that there are more arrows to his bow than was previously thought.
Think classic era bad company, deep purple and you will have a clear picture as to what these guys are about.
There is even an old trapeze number ’medusa’ thrown in [Glenn Hughes started out in trapeze years back].
I have not heard him sing with such guts and glory for quite a while.
Later tracks like ’Sista Jane’ showcase Derek Sherinian and his prowess with the Hammond b3 organ, a staple sound of the seventies.
To conclude then, four guys having a jol and upstaging many of the newer rock bands around today.
On import only, so good luck finding it in stores.
If you do you wont be dissapointed
